Ethereum Price Action: Yesterday’s Call vs. Today’s Reality

Our forecast for a measured move towards the $4,000 region remains in firm play, with a clear warning against overreacting to temporary buy-side moves. This approach not only protected capital but also offered opportunities for profit on bearish trades, emphasizing the continued utility of trend-following and confirmation over anticipation.

Ethereum Price Action: Yesterday’s Call vs. Today’s Reality

Yesterday, our collective technical analysis signaled a pivotal shift for Ethereum, foreseeing an imminent bearish turn in the overall market structure. This expectation stemmed from our detailed reading of the chart indicators across all key timeframes, which showed mounting weakness and trend exhaustion after an extended period of positive momentum. In particular, the daily and weekly DMAs began to lose their upward slope, with price action decisively slipping below these important levels. Lower timeframe charts, such as the two-hour and four-hour, indicated weak momentum bounces that failed to materialize into any sustainable rally, confirming a pattern of distribution rather than accumulation.

Today, the market decisively confirmed these technical warnings. Ethereum’s price struggled to build on any bounce, repeatedly rejecting attempts to break past the overhead resistance areas we identified. Particularly telling was the way CMF and DMI indicators continued to flag capital outflows and overwhelming bearish strength even as minor rallies occurred. The MACD and RSI signaled exhaustion on multiple intervals, with momentum only strong enough to produce brief corrections within a dominant downtrend. Those quick bullish divergences on the lower timeframes ultimately translated into ideal short entries rather than signals for a meaningful reversal.

Comparing today’s outcome with yesterday’s thesis underscores the value of disciplined multi-timeframe analysis. While the market offered fleeting opportunities for bulls, the structure never truly shifted away from its bearish orientation.

Looking forward, we continue to monitor the primary support and resistance bands while staying alert to signals for a potential bottom. However, until momentum and volume indicators suggest otherwise, the prudent stance remains cautious and defensive, with a preference for a short bias below resistance zones.
